Dear Monarch High School Students, Parents, and Community Members,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! We are excited to open our doors and hearts to you as we begin the 2025–2026 academic year with energy, pride, and momentum.

We are thrilled to share that Monarch High School has moved up from a C to a B school grade! This achievement reflects the dedication of our students, the hard work of our staff, and the unwavering support of our families and community. Together, we are continuing a culture of excellence and growth.

At Monarch High School, we are proud to offer a dynamic and engaging learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. We believe in the power of positive relationships, and we are committed to fostering a school community where students feel seen, valued, and supported every step of the way.

As we look ahead, our goal remains clear: to help every student discover their unique path to success—whether that path leads to college, a career, or service—and to walk beside them as they pursue their dreams.

Always remember that communication will be key to our success. Our website is currently being upgraded at monarch.browardschools.com. It will be the best place for information about what is happening at The Castle. We are available by phone at 754-322-4500 or email if you have any questions or concerns.

We will continue the Coffee and Conversations to provide a forum for any of our community members to come to our school to hear the fabulous things that are happening and ask any questions that they may have about our school. Coffee and Conversations will be held at 8:00 AM in the Media Center on the following dates:

September 25^th
December 11^th
February 26^th
April 23^rd

The following dates will be important as we start our school year:

Incoming Cambridge Parent Night – July 30^th at 6:30 PM
Senior Takeover – August 5^th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Freshman Fast Pass – August 7^th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 AM
Freshman Invasion for All New Students – August 7^th from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
First Day of School – August 11^th from 7:40 AM – 2:40 PM
School Gates Open: 7:00 AM for students
Open House - August 12^th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Welcome 10th Grade Knights to the 2025-2026 school year at MHS!

I am honored to be joining the Monarch Family, serving as the 10th grade assistant principal this school year. This is my 28th year serving Broward County Public Schools, and year 19 as a school administrator.

I look forward to building positive relationships, encouraging students to soar academically, and ensuring personal growth for all students.

Together, I am confident that we will have a successful year.

I have proudly served Broward County Public Schools for 30 years, and since 2018, Monarch High School has been my home. Over the years, I have dedicated my career to creating opportunities for students to succeed, supporting teachers in their professional growth, and building strong partnerships with families and the community.

One of my greatest joys is serving as the administrator for the Class of 2026. I have had the privilege of watching these students grow, overcome challenges, and prepare for their senior year. I am committed to supporting them every step of the way as they move toward graduation and beyond.

Every day, I am inspired by the resilience, creativity, and potential of our students. It is my privilege to serve this community and to help prepare our Knights for success—both in school and in life.

Hello 9th grade Knights!

Welcome to the new school year and welcome to the castle!

I am Kenneth May your assistant principal and I know that successful students become successful adults. A true Floridian who grew up in Broward County and attended local schools, this is my 31st year working in Broward County Schools and fourth year at Monarch High School. I love math, sports and playing with his little bambino in my free time. I received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Valley City State University in North Dakota and earned my master’s degree in educational leadership from Florida Atlantic University.

I am excited to work with the students this school year. “BRING YOU’RE A GAME”
